Healthcare Jobs Top 16.5 Million

Continuing strong growth in the healthcare industry showed the nation’s largest employer breaking through the 16.5 million jobs mark in February, as employment growth in the sector continues to be very strong, according to the latest data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. Monthly job growth in ambulatory care and hospitals has continued to be robust throughout the winter.

In February, healthcare added a total of 32,000 jobs, with gains in offices of physicians (+10,000), home health care services (+10,000), and hospitals (+8,000). Over the past 12 months, employment increased by 368,000 in health care.
