When asked to describe her work-life balance, she said, “Well, I mean, who really has a great life balance? Lol.” Despite the humor, her schedule paints a picture of a balanced and fulfilling life.
"I work five days a week with a little sprinkle of happy hour with coworkers from time to time. On weekends, I try to explore nearby cities, and between assignments, I spend at least five weeks traveling internationally and another five weeks visiting family each year."

“Being able to work in different locations opens your educational opportunities drastically. Each institution specializes in different cardiac diseases, and adapting to new people and environments has helped me become more comfortable and open while exploring the world and new cultures.”
Discovering New Passions
The freedom that comes with allied travel has allowed Alyce to discover new passions and hobbies that she might never have explored otherwise.
“I wouldn’t have been able to experience international travel as much. The freedom and finances that traveling for work gives me are not something I would have had in a permanent job. I wouldn't be able to take so much time off at once, Allied travel was definitely the best decision I ever made!”
Memorable Experiences
From volunteering and teaching doctors new skills in Rwanda to enjoying local cuisines, her travel assignments have been filled with memorable experiences. One such experience was a cooking class in Morocco.
“The best meal I have ever eaten was Chicken Tagine in Morocco. During a cooking course, we gathered fresh ingredients from a local market, including the freshest chicken I had ever had. I've had plenty of amazing food experiences from dining in Malaysia to eating Swahili food on a rooftop in Zanzibar, but the experience in Morocco was my most memorable meal.”
Advice for Aspiring Travelers

“Keep going towards your goals. Life happens regardless; you may as well explore your passion to the fullest while you can! Every day I wake up is an opportunity for new experiences, and I try to get out of my comfort zone in order to make that happen. ”
