Stanford Health Care is looking for two full time Advanced Practice Providers (NP/PA) that wish to work in Oncology, with a sub-specialty in Head/Neck Medical Oncology. Head/Neck cancers include cancers of the nasopharynx, sinuses, oropharynx (both HPV-mediated and those from heavy smoking/alcohol use), oral cavity, tongue, salivary glands, among others (including skin cancers that metastasize to Head/Neck regions). Given the location and complexity of these cancer diagnoses, caring for head and neck cancer patients is both technically complex and emotionally compelling.   The APP will build expertise/knowledge/skills in general medicine as well as in the Head/Neck Medical Oncology specialty. Stanford Health Care strives to ensure APPs work at the top of their license/scope, therefore APPs will transition over time from working in co-shared settings with their MD colleagues to treating the same patient panel in their APP independent clinic. Patients seen in independent practice includes previously treated patients under surveillance, newly diagnosed patients, patients on cancer-treatment both short-term and long-term, as well as patients that require transition to hospice after multiple lines of treatment.   The ideal Head and Neck Medical Oncology NP/PA would have at least 1 year of Oncology experience as an APP.

We are actively looking for a dedicated full-time Outpatient Non-Malignant Hematology Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA) to become a valuable member of our healthcare team. This role encompasses a four-day workweek, featuring 10-hour day shifts from Monday to Friday, with possible occasional weekend shifts.As an NP/PA in this position, your primary responsibility will be to contribute your expertise to our Outpatient Classical Hematology Clinic. You will be actively involved in managing patients with benign hematologic disorders, including but not limited to iron deficiency, various low-complexity classical hematology pathologies, and patients transitioning from in-patient to outpatient care.Additionally, this role offers a unique opportunity for professional flexibility, with four weeks per year flex to provide in-patient coverage. This enables you to provide collaborative and independent care to patients, ensuring comprehensive and continuous support for those with benign hematologic disorders.  Responsibilities:
  • Collaborative Patient Care: Working alongside the Attending Physician, NPs and PAs will provide comprehensive care to patients with non-malignant hematologic disorders. This includes conducting thorough history and physical examinations, interpreting diagnostic studies, lab results, radiology studies, and pathology reports.
  • Treatment Planning: The NP/PA will be responsible for developing treatment plans in collaboration with the physician. They will manage acute problems arising from therapy and primary diagnoses, as well as initiate and adjust therapy orders in collaboration with the physician.
  • Medication and Treatment Orders: Ordering and prescribing medications and patient care treatments will be part of the NP/PA's role.
  • Clinical Trials: NPs and PAs will actively participate in the management of patients enrolled in clinical trials, working closely with the Attending Physician.
  • Educational Role: The NP/PA will serve as an educational resource for nursing and pharmacy staff, sharing their expertise and knowledge. They will contribute to the ongoing education and training of the team.
  • Procedures: The NP/PA may perform various procedures including bone marrow biopsies, lumbar punctures, and punch skin biopsies.
 Qualifications:Education and Licensure: The ideal candidate should possess a master’s degree in nursing or from a Physician Assistant program and hold a valid NP or PA license.Experience: Prior experience in hematology/oncology is preferred, but not required. Candidates with a strong background in general internal medicine may also be considered. Skills and Attributes:
