Vice Chair, Bone Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapies Fox Chase Cancer Center/Temple HealthPhiladelphia, Pennsylvania Fox Chase is seeking an innovative and visionary physician with an expertise in BMT to fill the newly created position of Vice Chair – Department of Bone Marrow Transplant & Cellular Therapies, to lead departmental initiatives and to also spearhead the development of a new, high priority Blood Disorders Institute.The OpportunityAlready recognized as one of the leading programs in the country for the treatment of blood cancers, Fox Chase is now creating the TUHS Blood Disorders Institute. The vision of this initiative is to establish Fox Chase/Temple Health as the national leader in the diagnosis, treatment, research, and education of hematologic malignancies, cellular therapy, and related blood disorders. The Institute is a leading priority for the institution and is well-supported.The new Vice Chair will be positioned to lead and achieve key initiatives and goals including optimization and integration of the department’s clinical operations across the care continuum, programmatic expansion and strategic planning for the Department, and further development the Department’s research portfolio, including leadership of translational and clinical research. In addition, the Vice Chair will play an integral role in developing the new institute dedicated to advancing research and treatment of blood disorders.The Ideal CandidateThe successful candidate will be an innovative and collaborative physician with experience in bone marrow transplant services and a proven track record of clinical excellence. The Vice Chair will be passionate about the tripartite mission and will have the charisma to lead. Working in an NCI-designated cancer center or similar oncology environment, with a concomitant understanding of the complexities of delivering care in a large system that supports research innovation, is essential. This leader will have a history of extramural funding, particularly in therapeutics or outcomes, ideally with experience and knowledge in Investigator-Initiated clinical trials, National Clinical Trials Network, and industry-sponsored trials. MD, DO or MD/PHD, and appropriate board certification required.The OrganizationFox Chase Cancer Center is a founding member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network and provides patient care and research in more than 80 laboratories with more than 2,000 staff, physicians, and scientists.
