In addition, the CEO is expected to engage the community, building partnerships that support the center’s mission, and, in coordination with the Board of Directors (BOD), the CEO establishes the long-term goals related to growth, patient care, community impact, and financial sustainability, and guiding the organization toward fulfilling its mission. The CEO must be adept at monitoring, anticipating, and adapting to federal and state healthcare policy and funding trends and changes, so the organization can continue to deliver the healthcare needs of the community. The CEO must be a leader with both humility and conviction and must have high emotional intelligence to connect with a range of stakeholders. Diplomacy is highly valued in this role. It is preferred for the candidate to have experience with and a general understanding of labor relations, possess conflict resolution and negotiation skills in reaching collective bargaining agreements; and understand the process of resolving issues between unionized employees and management. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will provide inspiring and effective leadership while administering, directing, and coordinating all activities of the organization toward the fulfillment of its mission, strategy, and achievement of its long-term and annual goals and objectives. The Ideal Candidate: 
  • Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Masters in Business Administration, J.D. or other advanced degrees in relevant field required.
  • Fifteen (15) years of general healthcare management experience required, preferably in similar size budget and operation. Five (5) years’ experience in a senior management position with an FQHC or healthcare entity of similar size or larger scope and scale required. Prior CEO experience a plus.
  • Certificates and Licenses: FACHE strongly preferred.
  • Public policy, advocacy community involvement and public speaking experience are strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated skill in strategic planning, financial planning, and organizing work, managing time and meeting commitments.
  • Demonstrated skill in fundraising and community awareness.
  • Union experience preferred, including successful contract negotiations and fostering productive labor relations with physicians or provider unions.
