The future CEO, GMH will have the benefit of building upon a positive organizational culture, coupled with a solid leadership team, good reputation, and overall quality medical staff, but also facing serious financial challenges. The successful candidate must have gravitas, knowledge, vision, and ability to execute to craft and strengthen a new strategic plan to ensure ongoing and future success, financial stability, and intentional growth, while also maintaining GMH’s existing positive and collaborative culture and continued clinical strength. This new executive will serve as the external voice and face of GMH, the “chief advocate” and be capable of ensuring GMH remains independent, and as a public trust. The hospital is a political subdivision of Grady County. The Ideal Candidate 
  • A graduate degree (e.g., MBA, MHA, MD or other advanced degrees) is strongly preferred. 
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible, successful leadership experience in health care management and operations. 
  • Leadership experience within a community hospital environment is a must; leadership experience gained in a prospective payment hospital is preferred.
  • The successful candidate will currently be a President/Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, SVP/VP of Operations, or hold another senior executive level position in a healthcare provider organization with reputation for excellence. Regardless of current and prior positions held, the successful candidate must possess outstanding and hands on operational leadership skills/experience. 
  • Track record of building partnerships or joint ventures with external health systems is strongly preferred. 
  • Leadership experience within a public trust is preferred. 
  • Must have prior experience working collaboratively with a Board, with transparency, trust and willingness to encourage open discussion of key issues appropriate to Board levels. Must also have experience assisting with the development of a strategic plan based on hospital wherewithal to meet community needs.
  • Rural healthcare experience is strongly preferred.
The OrganizationGrady Memorial Hospital (GMH) is an independent, community based, non-profit, public trust hospital located in Chickasha, Oklahoma. GMH is comprised of 49 licensed acute inpatient beds, 9 ICU beds, and 24 swing beds. GMH owns and operates medical practice, Five Oaks Medical , which is comprised of 28 practitioners in addition to physician medicine, pediatrics, orthopedic, pain, and an array of contracted medical and surgical specialists from nearby facilities. The active medical staff includes more than 24 providers. GMH serves the Grady County region with a wide variety of care options not often found in a small community. Services include emergency services (12,000 annual visits), surgery (1,700 cases annually),diagnostics (including a fixed MRI), diabetes education, infusion, sleep disorders center, primary and specialty care, short stay swing bed rehabilitation services and GMH Surgical specialties includes Pain, ENT, Gastroenterology, General Surgery, Gynecology, Orthopedics and Podiatry. GMH is consistently striving to better understand which services can be added and expanded to better serve the community and keep care locally.The LocationChickasha, OK has a population of 16,000 and is home to one of Oklahoma’s best universities, major employers and popular community events, in addition to being a commercial hub for two counties.
