Stormont Vail Health in Topeka, Kansas is seeking an Administrative Director of the Operating Room to oversee system-wide Surgical Services operations and drive excellence in patient care and efficiency!The Position 
  • The Administrative Director of the Operating Room will lead the daily operations, long-term planning, and strategic direction of the Surgical Services department across the Stormont Vail Health system, ensuring excellence in efficiency, quality, and patient care.
  • Reporting to the Vice President of Clinical Operations, the scope of services encompasses Trauma, Surgery, Surgical Services, and Surgical Business Operations.
  • This leader will play a key role in departmental initiatives, including collaborating with surgeons to establish standardized costs of care. Additionally, they will drive safety and quality initiatives for the system. Lastly, they will focus on optimizing tools and workflows within the Service Line, replacing outdated practices to enhance efficiency and patient outcomes.
  • Ideal candidates will be strong, results-driven leaders with an operations-focused mindset, capable of motivating teams and driving excellence. This role requires a confident, forward-thinking leader who excels in effective communication at all levels, from staff to providers. Proven experience in program development and a demonstrated ability to manage safety and behavioral challenges will be essential for success.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
  • Must have a minimum of five years clinical healthcare experience, with at least three years in a leadership position.

  • The organization holds 70% of the Topeka surgery market share and is expanding exponentially – recently opening a brand-new ENT center and soon to be opening up a new outpatient surgery center and a hybrid OR. 
  • SVH is a member of the Mayo Clinic Care Network which brings the expertise of Mayo medical specialists to the physicians at SVH.
