Yale Health, a world-renown academic healthcare institution, is seeking their next Director of Employee Health to join them in this innovative opportunity located in New Haven, Connecticut!  The Position
  • The Director of Employee Health will be responsible for the direction of clinical and administrative operations of the Occupational Medicine/Employee Health Program and will serve a pivotal role in the promotion of employee safety, wellbeing, and clinical excellence throughout Yale Health and Yale University.  
  • Reporting to the Chief Campus Health Officer, the Director will be responsible for the oversight of approximately 5 FTEs and will collaborate closely with the department manager to ensure that departmental initiatives including employee access, recruitment, budgeting, safety, and quality are met.  
  • The Director will strive to improve and maintain the quality of clinical care throughout the department and will provide medical consultations, examinations, and fitness for duty evaluations to staff members injured in the course of their work or exposed to biological, chemical, radiological, and physical hazards throughout the university.  
  • This Director will collaborate closely with workers compensation, Human Resources, Environmental Health and Safety, and the Office of Institutional Equity and Accessibility (OIEA) to implement a robust university-level occupational health strategy. Additionally, the Chief must be equipped to provide effective communication to both internal and external stakeholders pertaining to the status of the department.   
  • This leader will design and oversee the development of university-level occupational health policies, procedures, and protocols while serving on established committees including risk management, research, and work environments. In addition, the Chief will advise campus partners on health requirements, regulatory programs, and consultations pertaining to Yale Health Infection Control. 
  • Seeking a skilled physician who will be able to effectively optimize and maintain departmental records/reports including occupational health records, health assessments, incident reports, and treatment plans while ensuring that all records are within compliance regulations including HIPAA, OSHA, and organizational expectations.  
  • Candidates will ideally bring extensive knowledge and experience regarding occupational medicine, healthcare trends, data analysis, and market health programs. 
Requirements
  • MD and/or DO degree is required; fellowship training in Occupational and Environmental Medicine or equivalent residency training is required. 
  • Active CT Medical License and/or ability to obtain is required. 
  • Board certification in Occupational Medicine and/or ABMS specialty is required. 
  • Certification and/or ability to obtain CT Controlled Substance Registration, Federal DEA Registration, Board Certification and qualifies for hospital and faculty appointments is required. 
  • Academic and/or University Healthcare experience is preferred.
