Direct reports will include 5 Directors, 3 Managers, a Clinical Decision Support Specialist and 6 Clinical Documentation Nurses. The Ideal Candidate:
  • A minimum of ten years of progressive quality experience in an acute care setting with a proven track record in performance improvement, patient experience, and patient safety. 
  • Five plus years in leading quality initiatives across multiple hospitals or within a system is preferred.  
  • A master’s degree in healthcare administration, Business Administration, Nursing, or a related field is required. 
  • Currently licensed as a registered nurse within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or the need to quickly obtain it will be required. 
  • A certification in healthcare quality (CPHQ) is preferred. 
  • Six Sigma certification preferred and will be expected within 2 years of employment.
  • Current knowledge of regulations and standards as related to The Joint Commission, CMS, Leapfrog, and the Department of Public Health.
  • Demonstrated success in monitoring, evaluating, and improving quality and patient safety at the institutional level, having had a significant impact on quality.
  • Experience leading both inpatient and ambulatory quality preferred.

  • The Vice President of Operations will oversee the administration and operations of ancillary services and service lines at El Camino Health. This includes pharmacy, imaging, laboratory, rehabilitation services, as well as service lines in Mental Health, Cancer, Heart and Vascular, Neuro/Ortho/Spine/Robotics, and Women’s Health.
  • This position will report to the Chief Operations Officer and oversee approximately eight direct reports.
  • This leader’s responsibilities include upholding Quality and Safety standards by analyzing external benchmarking metrics to enhance the quality of care. Additionally, they will prioritize fostering a positive organizational culture, ensuring staff engagement, and providing opportunities for mentorship and professional development. Lastly, they will focus on financial stewardship, identifying strategies to enhance cost-effectiveness.
  • The ideal candidate will be a highly organized, strategic leader with a strong executive presence and ability to help grow the hospital system. Candidates must be capable of working independently and be creative problem solvers. 
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree highly preferred.
  • A minimum of seven years of management experience in a healthcare setting is required. Prior experience overseeing Ancillary Services and/or Service Lines is highly desirable.
  • Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) preferred. 
Compensation RangeThe base salary range for this position is $254,000 to $381,000 annually. In addition, a leader may be eligible for other benefits, including but not limited to health insurance coverage, retirement benefits, and bonuses. The total compensation for the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation.
