(AMG). This is an outstanding opportunity for a talented and relationship-oriented operations leader to join a dynamic, high performing leadership team and impact the future of an exceptional community health system and the people it serves.  The Position:  Reporting to the President of AMG, the VP, Operations is a system-level role and will provide strategic vision, leadership, direction, and high-level oversight to regional directors, clinic managers, clinic coordinators, clinic supervisors, and their respective clinic operations with assigned division. This role will be part of a cross functional team of internal and external experts, interacting with existing physician/administrative dyads, network providers, AMG Board/Quality Improvement (QI) Committee, and other stake holders, to provide support, assess performance, identify improvement opportunities, and develop and deploying initiatives designed to achieve success outlined in AMG strategic imperatives. The VP, Operations will serve as a member of the AMG Executive Team.   Responsible for establishing administrative, operational policies and procedures; the VP, Operations collaboratively participates in physician/administrative dyads to identify and resolve operational issues. This executive maintains overall accountability for operational budgets within their assigned division. This leader engages in and is accountable for leadership and management of the functions assigned under the direction of the President of AMG.  Qualifications:  The VP, Operations will be a strategic and experienced healthcare leader with a strong background in ambulatory clinic management and multi-site operations. They have a proven ability to drive efficiency, implement innovative programs, and enhance patient care within a complex health system. With a solid foundation in healthcare administration, business strategy, and workforce development, this leader excels in operational oversight, collaboration with key stakeholders, and navigating the evolving landscape of community health. The Ideal Candidate:  
  • Knowledge of administrative practices normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in health-related field or business administration required. Completion of Master’s degree in Health or Business desired. Professional development courses in health care management.
  • Ten years’ experience in health administration including at least five years in direct ambulatory clinic administration/operations strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of health planning and management sufficient to manage, direct, and coordinate the operations of multiple clinic sites.
  • Knowledge of the purposes, organization, and policies of the community’s health systems sufficient to interact with other health care providers.
  • Knowledge in leadership skills, program and service implementation, and strategic planning.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of employee development sufficient to ensure organizational productivity.
The Location:  Based in Wausau, Wisconsin, Aspirus Health serves northeastern Minnesota, northern and central Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. This is an outstanding opportunity for a talented, operationally focused, and relationship oriented professional to join a dynamic, high performing senior leadership team and impact the future of an exceptional community health system and the people it serves.The PositionThe Vice President of Operations provides strategic vision, leadership, organizational direction and management to Aspirus Wausau Hospital, its clinical and ancillary service programs, departments, and functions. Areas of responsibility include surgical services, cath lab, EP lab, respiratory, therapies, dietary, and environmental services. Has accountability to ensure that all key constituency groups are aligned in achieving objectives outlined through the organizations strategic operating plan. Engaged in and accountable for leadership and management of the functions assigned under the direction of the President. This position reports to the President, Aspirus Wausau Hospital.The Ideal Candidate 
  • Master’s Degree in Hospital Administration/Business Administration or related health field required.
  • Membership in the American College of Healthcare Executives preferred.
  • Five years of progressive management experience that includes both hospital and/or ambulatory care.
  • Experience and leadership within tertiary level surgical services is required.
  • Operational experience in a complex environment with multiple areas of responsibility.

In addition, this leader will be responsible for staffing initiatives including hiring, evaluations, and terminations while evaluations the quality and productivity of employees. 
  • Will collaborate closely with the Vice President, medical staff, administration, nursing, and department heads while also serving as part of the Hazardous Materials and Waste Reduction Committee, Infection Control Committee, and Safety Committee.  
  • Seeking an approachable, hands-on leader who will be equipped to build and maintain a positive and collaborating work environment, in addition to scheduling and holding regular department meetings and performance improvement activities. This individual will foster a strong organizational culture, build rapport, develop succession planning, and create leadership opportunities. 
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality services or related field is required. 
  • A minimum of five years of experience in hospitality service leadership is required.  
  • A Certified Food Manager credential is required.
