In most cases, these procedures require only a small incision to introduce a catheter. Most procedures don’t require general anesthesia and require very little time to perform. In many cases, patients can go home the same day or are hospitalized for only one night following the procedure, instead of the longer hospital stay required by more invasive surgical techniques. Recovery time is often shorter as well, since most interventional cardiology procedures are now performed through a small artery in the wrist which eliminates the need to lie flat after the procedure. The invasive treatments we offer include: Diagnostic and Interventional Catheterization Angioplasty and Percutaneous Coronary Stenting Balloon Valvuloplasty Coronary Thrombectomy Implantation of Pacemakers, Internal Defibrillators (ICD) and Insertable Cardiac Monitoring Systems

This is primarily for Cath lab procedure room, where we staff 8 hour shifts, and STEMI call is required. Some float to the prep/recovery area may be required. Our lab does the following procedures: Cardiac diagnostic and interventional including PCI, atherectomy (shockwave, rotablator), ventricular support (Impella, IABP), IVUS, FFR, Cardiomems. Peripheral vascular diagnostic and interventional, including lower extremity intervention, carotid stenting. Electrophysiology including PPM, ICD, diagnostic and interventional EP using Abbott and Biosense Webster systems. Structural heart including left atrial appendage closure, TAVR, MitraClip, PFO closure. Limited interventional radiology procedures such as dialysis port placement. Change cardiology hemo recording system is used in our cath lab.

Under the general direction of the physician (Cardiologist/Radiologist), will assist by scrubbing procedures or monitoring physiologic and hemodynamic data, as related to diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures performed in the cardiovascular lab. Ensures procedure room is adequately prepared for the procedure. Monitors par level of all instruments and supplies. Participates in departmental staff meetings and performance improvement activities and the training of new staff. Assists in all aspects of invasive and noninvasive cardiac procedures.

Cath Lab RN needed for 5 room unit at 221 bed Level 2 Trauma center. Located just east of Kansas City, the hospital is an accredited Chest Pain Center, Primary Stroke Center, and has a Level III NICU. Facility features all private patient rooms.
