14 bed ICU/IMC unit (with peds beds) 30 Bed medical unit Up to 20 bed Surgical unit (usually runs up to 15) Family Birthing unit Special Care Nursery OR and Ambulatory Care Unit Emergency Department (currently about 52 patients per day, many of which are high acuity) Cardiovascular Lab – but only emergent cases and no open heart currently. This department provides triage, treatment and support for trauma and emergency patients of all ages in an acute care setting. If the department is designated as a trauma site, the hours and expenses related to triage and treatment of trauma patients is included. However, the hours and expenses related to the administration and support of the Trauma program and it’s services (i.e. Trauma registry, trauma coordinators) should not be included here. A Brief Overview: The Clinical Nurse (CN) is an RN who provides hands-on care to patients, practicing in an evidence-based manner, within the Scope of Practice of the California Nursing Practice Act, regulatory requirements, standards of care, and hospital policies.
