The 11 bed Labor and Delivery unit has an average of 150-160 births per month. Will provide care to patients in labor, Caesarean sections, Hysterectomy. Should have experience with Cautery and Fetal Monitor equipment.

Traveler should expect to float to Antepartum and Postpartum areas and provide care for Couplet care, skin to skin after birth.

Job Summary: This department provides labor, delivery, and recovery (LDR) services. The OB Triage function is included here if performed by staff in this department. Postpartum, infant care, and ambulatory birthing centers are excluded. Delivers coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff, and coordinates care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking, professional and supervisory discretion, and independent judgment.
