Cleans equipment and facilities as necessary. Performs housekeeping duties as requested. Transports patients according to unit schedules and priorities. Provides clerical duties. Completes instrument, sponge, needle and blade counts with the Registered Nurse (RN) according to established standards. Sets up/maintains neat and orderly sterile field demonstrating careful attention to aseptic technique. Labels solutions according to established standards. Obtains appropriate sterile and unsterile items needed for procedure. Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedure. Helps drape sterile field. Cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization. Assists other members of team with cleaning of room for turnover. Assists in prepping room for the next patient.
