There are many outdoor adventures readily available, including carving the snow at North America’s only year-round ski resort, hiking along the Columbia River Gorge or taking a day trip to the unmatched beauty of the Oregon coast. Job Summary: Performs procedures which require specialized training for general nursing care and related services for assigned patients, under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Medical Doctor (MD), in accordance with established policy. Participates in the planning for and provision of patient care. Uses knowledge of asepsis in performance of treatments, such as sterile dressings, irritations and cauterizations. Provides functional direction to ancillary personnel. Job Requirements: Education and Work Experience: High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred Bachelor?s Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred Licenses/Certifications: Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license: Required Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) Health Care Provider certification: Required Arrhythmia certification: Preferred Licensed Vocational Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse (LVN/LPN): Required Essential Functions: Provides care for assigned patients, under the supervision of an Registered Nurse (RN) according to established standard and nursing process. Performs admission assessments, and ongoing re-assessments based on departmental specific policy and procedures. Assists in the development of a prioritized interdisciplinary plan of care on each patient. Implements and coordinates plan of care utilizing appropriate organizational skills and reporting mechanisms. Implements individual teaching plans, including Patient Teaching Protocols and discharge Plans, based on mutual goal setting and with emphasis on patient decision making. Performs assigned clinical procedures (i.e. phlebotomy, injections, drug screens, etc.) Administers medications. Orders/restocks supplies as assigned, according to established par levels. Maintains neatness/cleanliness in assigned areas. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. This department provides comprehensive consultative, diagnostic, and therapeutic treatment for chronic or non-healing wounds, which are defined as sores or wounds that have not significantly improved from conventional treatments. Typically, a wound that does not respond to normal medical care within 30 days is considered a problem or chronic wound. Treatment options may include, but are not limited to: bioengineered skin replacement tissues, surgical intervention, wound closure devices and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. Services are provided in a hospital-based outpatient department or outpatient center located within 35 miles of the hospital campus.
