19 total beds (13 pediatric beds with 6 oncology beds) based in exciting Asheville is looking for the right RN to join their team. 700+ bed Level 2 Trauma center. Known for its thriving arts community and natural beauty, the city of Asheville is located in western North Carolina along the Blue Mountains

The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed care givers who ensure that patients, families and significant others receive individualized high quality, safe patient care. They practice in a clinical environment that is administered by Nurse Managers and other leaders and is supported through the Wellstar Shared Governance Model. The framework for practice is steered by the Wellstar Professional Practice Model and evidence-based practice and research. RN competencies are derived from these models and supported by the Wellstar Values.

350 bed Level 2 Trauma center Facility is located in a suburb just south of Kansas City. Local attractions include the Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens, Museum at Prairiefire, Indian Creek Greenway, and numerous other museums and theaters.

The PICU receives patients from internal and external transports. Patients are closely monitored through invasive and noninvasive methods by the nursing staff. Nurses undergo an extensive orientation which is specific to the critically ill pediatric population. Minimum requirements: BLS, current RN licensure in the state of North Carolina or temporary North Carolina licensure or meet requirements to hold RN licensure in a compact state is required upon hire; PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) and 8 hours/year of trauma education are required to be obtained in one year. Educational programs are offered to promote professional development and optimal patient care. On Call Requirement: None Minimum Qualifications: Education: BSN – Will Consider ADN with 6 years of experience Licensure/Certification: Colorado RN license or multi-state compact license, PALS, ACLS, BLS Other: Prefer Pediatric CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse) Required Job Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years Staff RN experience in dedicated CVPICU (pediatric CICU OH) Must have previous travel experience Required Certifications: BLS, PALS, ACLS *PLEASE NOTATE IN WORK HISTORY COMMENTS* Teaching Hospital Experience (Strongly Preferred) Additional Notes: No RTO approved within the first two weeks of the assignment. Colorful images and artwork enhance the walls to create a welcoming, child-focused environment with play rooms on every floor. Hospital offers valet parking, a 32 bed Pediatric Emergency room, 17 bed Pediatric ICU, Level 4 Neonatal ICU, pediatric operating suites, and special outpatient clinics for children with complex illnesses.
