The Nurse/Health Care Manager furthers the mission of YMCA Camp Bernie by overseeing the health and wellness of all camp participants. The Nurse/Health Care Manager ensures and provides for adequate physical conditions for all. Essential Job Functions: 1: Oversee the management and operations of the Wellness Center. a. Design and implement a system for health screening all arriving and departing campers and staff, including out of camp trips. b. Conduct inventory of supplies and place orders when necessary (in consult with Summer Camp Coordinator and Executive Director), ensuring timely arrival of supplies. c. Coordinate coverage of the health center and post hours for daily medications and health call. -Day K-10th grade; Overnight 2nd grade-10th grade -Dates: Training starts on June 6th, with the bulk of the training on June 9th. They could move in on the 7th or 8th. Last day of day camp is Aug 22nd, Overnight camp ends on Aug 15th. -Day Camp is 11 weeks; Overnight Camp 10 weeks and they overlap a bit -Accommodations- If the Camp LPN is not local, there will be a room available in the wellness ctr ( BR, Shower, Kitchenet, etc- FREE) -Food-3 meals a day covered. -Coverage is 24/7, needs 1 LPN for entire duration

We are seeking a compassionate and adaptable Registered Nurse (RN) to join our summer camp team. This role is ideal for a nurse who enjoys working in a dynamic environment, providing immediate care for a range of injuries and illnesses, and supporting a vibrant camp community. As a Summer Camp Nurse, you will be responsible for overseeing the health and safety of campers and staff, administering medications, and responding to emergencies. Location: Camp Pinecliffe in Harrison, Maine Work Schedule: • Weekly Hours: 48.5 hours per week • Shifts: o Two 7.5-hour shifts o Two 10.5-hour shifts o One overnight shift • Days Off: Two days off each week to explore the area • Camp Infirmary Hours: 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM with breaks during meal times; after-hours duties for emergencies only Accommodation & Benefits: • Private, air-conditioned sleeping quarters on camp property (linens and towels provided) • Three meals per day provided • Camp vehicle available for transportation or use your own car • Opportunity to enjoy two full days off each week to explore the local area Key Responsibilities: • On-Site Assessments: Conduct evaluations of injuries and illnesses in a timely and professional manner • Medication Administration: Dispense prescribed medications and maintain accurate records of all medications administered • Emergent Response: Respond immediately to medical emergencies, including basic first aid, CPR, and transport to local clinics or emergency rooms when necessary • Supply Management: Maintain inventory of medical supplies, order replacements, and ensure the infirmary is stocked with essential items • Health and Safety: Monitor the health of campers and staff, including any pre-existing conditions or new medical concerns, and provide necessary care • Preparation for Camp Season: Arrive two weeks prior to the start of the camp to set up the infirmary, prepare medications, and organize medical supplies Required Qualifications: • Current RN (Registered Nurse) licensure in Maine, or Compact Status • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with children, staff, and parents • Ability to adapt to the fast-paced, dynamic camp environment • Must be comfortable handling emergencies and making quick decisions • BLS certification (current) Preferred Skills: • Experience in emergency care, pediatrics, or camp nursing • Ability to maintain calm and professionalism in high-stress situations • Organizational skills to manage medical supplies and records efficiently Compensation: • Paid twice per month • On-site housing and meals provided • Transportation Reimbursement to and from camp • Camp vehicle for nurses’ personal use (dependent on passing a license and background check)
