As a Behavioral Health Registered Nurse / RN you will: Provide planning and delivery of direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process of Assessment, Planning, Intervention, and Evaluation. Develops nursing care plan in coordination with patient, family and interdisciplinary staff as necessary. Communicates changes in patient’s clinical condition with Physician’s, Nursing Supervisor/Manager, and co-workers as appropriate. Participates in discharge planning process.

The Inpatient Childrens Unit provides safe, secure behavioral health treatment for children and adolescents ages 5 to 17 that require acute inpatient level of care. Unit Size/Beds: 26 Expected Ratios: Days (3 RNs, 1:8), Eves (3 RNs 1:8), Nights (1 RN 1:26) Cases seen: Mood disorders, Disruptive mood dysregulation disorders, Suicidal ideation, Neurodevelopmental disorders (ADD, ADHD) Years of Exp preferred: Minimum 1 year recent psychiatric experience with child-adolescent population preferred Certifications required: CPI, AHA(BLS) CPR (hospital willing to provide on-site training)

THIS IS A PSYCH PEDIATRIC CONTRACT General Information Located in Bangor, ME Beds: 92 — Peds – 36 beds; Adults – 56 Minimum years of experience required: 1 year of Behavioral Health nursing required Pediatric BH exp preferred – send to manager for approval if candidate does not have Peds experience Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes Patient Types: Free standing acute inpatient facility – contracted ER 5 min away All patients come from an ED and are medically cleared not typical to have lines, drains, tubes, etc. Children and Adolescents receiving inpatient Mental Health services – ages 5 – 18 Common diagnoses include, but are not limited to: Eating Disorders, Depression, Suicidal Ideation, Anxiety, Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Gender Dysphoria Traditional medical and psychiatric care in addition to specialized therapies such as: pet therapy, group sessions, recreation therapy (rock wall), community gardens Patient Ratios: RN: Day – 1:5-6; Night – 1:16 with resource support (including Nursing support) Psych Techs: Day – 6 Psych Techs; Night – 3 Psych Techs Required Certifications: BLS MOAB is obtained on site (part of orientation) Skills required: De-escalation experience, experience with physical restraints Support on the Unit: Nurse Supervisor – available evenings/weekends Nurse Manager – days House Administrator – available overnight and weekends Charge nurse – has patient assignment Psych Techs Nurse Practitioner; on site until 1600 and then on call overnight Psychiatrist – daily rounds and On Call 0000-0600 Occupational Therapist – 0800-1630, 7 days per week Charting System/Equipment: Cerner Pyxis Floating: If yes, where? Yes – between two pediatric units Orientation: (facility and unit) 2 weeks Mon-Fri – Days 2 (12’s) on shift contracted to Scheduling: Weekend rotation: every other; Sat/Sun Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed Will they be on call?
