Reporting to Justin Williams, President, the Chief will establish and lead a new division, overseeing its development, resource management, and programmatic growth. This role will focus on fostering clinician development, enhancing education, and driving clinical productivity to ensure exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leadership, clinical excellence, patient care, and teaching. The Chief will be responsible for building the division within the Orlando Health Medical Group while continuing collaboration with the hospital’s private practice physicians. Currently, pediatric otolaryngology services at OHAPH are delivered by private practitioners. Approximately 1,000 pediatric otolaryngology cases were performed last year, with significant potential for growth given the hospital's robust resources, including 15,000 annual births, a large newborn nursery, and a high-volume NICU at Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies. The incoming Chief will immediately have the opportunity to recruit two additional clinicians, aiming to grow the division to 4-5 providers. These clinicians will work alongside experienced OR staff proficient in pediatric otolaryngology surgeries. Additionally, the new Children’s Pavilion will offer dedicated space to support the division’s growth and operations. This is a unique opportunity to shape a division and advance pediatric otolaryngology services at OHAPH. In addition, the Division Chief will have the opportunity to build the ambulatory practice and establish operational processes for their clinics. Significant opportunities exist to include Pediatric Otolaryngology at existing OHAPH satellite clinics throughout Central Florida as the division grows. The Division has eight exam rooms and two procedure rooms in clinic and 11 areas (8 bays and three private rooms) for infusion. There are also 20 inpatient beds dedicated to pediatric hematology/oncology and two inpatient beds dedicated to the Bone Marrow Transplant Program. The Division of Hematology/Oncology at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children has many strengths including the following:
  • A designated Hemophilia Treatment Center (HTC).
  • Division has a well-established Pediatric Neuro-Oncology team and sees approximately 60 new brain tumor patients annually. These patients are supported by a prominent pediatric neurosurgeon.
  • The Division of Hematology/Oncology has a large Sickle Cell patient population with approximately 550 patients.
  • Division members are involved in multiple Phase 1 and Phase 2 clinical trials.
  • The Pediatric Hematology/Oncology team remains highly active in research. The research team supporting Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children (OHAPH) and Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies (OHWPH) includes one director, one supervisor, five research coordinators, two regulatory coordinators, and two data coordinators.
The Ideal Candidate: The successful candidate will be a visionary and strategic leader. The candidate will have a proven record as a problem solver and have the ability to implement innovative solutions to contemporary challenges. The new Division Chief will have demonstrated leadership in clinical care, development of research, and/or administration and strong clinical expertise, within the field of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.Education/Certifications

Lastly, they will lead efforts to integrate the Pain Management team into the Neuroscience Service Line.
  • Ideal candidates will be collaborative, hands-on, and highly visible leaders. They must excel in fast-paced environments, be capable of thinking strategically, and have a proven ability to hold teams accountable. Experience in business development and service line management is essential.
  • This position is based at Mainland Hospital, with regular travel to City Hospital required. An onsite presence is mandatory; remote or hybrid work options are not available.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required; A Master's degree in Nursing or Business Administration is required.
  • CCRN or SCRN certification preferred. 
  • A minimum of 10 years of clinical experience in neuroscience and stroke care, combined with at least five years of leadership experience managing the strategy and operations of a service line, is required.
  • Experience in business development & grant proposal writing as well as reporting required. Proficiency in Clinical Applications required. 
  • Membership and active participation in professional organizations such as American Heart Association, American Board of Neurosciences Nursing, or ASET (The Neuro-diagnostic Society).
Compensation Range
  • The base salary range for this position is $170,000 to $210,000 annually. In addition, a leader may be eligible for other benefits, including but not limited to health insurance coverage, retirement benefits, and bonuses. The total compensation for the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. In response, LKSOM addresses issues that promote health equity through education, care delivery, workforce development, and research. LKSOM recognizes that an environment enriched with persons from varied backgrounds working to address health disparity enhances scholarly work and the development of a culturally aware and responsive healthcare workforce.LKSOM comprises 21 clinical departments, 8 Basic Science Departments, 16 Research Centers, and 4 Clinical Institutes/Centers. More than 1,000 physicians and scientists share the mission of bringing innovative treatments to patients.The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences at Temple Health, LKSOM employs approximately 30 MDs or MD/PhDs, as well as nurses, advanced practitioners, administrative, and research staff. The Department has five clinical divisions: General Obstetrics and Gynecology, Maternal Fetal Medicine, Pelvic Medicine, and Reconstructive Surgery (Urogynecology), Reproductive Endocrinology, and Gynecologic Oncology, in addition to a strong program in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. The department supports 25 residents and three gynecologic oncology fellows. and currently sees patients at Temple University Hospital and satellite offices at TUH – Episcopal Campus, Elkins Park, TUH – Jeanes Campus, in the Roxborough, Center City, and Bustleton neighborhoods, and in the soon to be open Temple Women and families Hospital in Juniata Park. The Division of Gynecologic Oncology counts five gynecologic oncologists (3 primarily based at FCCC and two at TUH-Main). There are three fellows (one per year) in the ACGME-approved gynecologic oncology fellowship program. The gynecologic oncologists perform surgery from minimally invasive (including robotic-assisted) to radical surgery (including intestinal and urological). Complex or high-risk surgery for benign gynecologic pathology is also performed, as well as chemotherapy and immunotherapy for treating gynecologic malignancies.The PositionFox Chase Cancer Center/Temple Health seeks a dynamic, academic physician to serve dual roles as System Chief of Gynecologic Oncology and Director of Gynecologic Oncology in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences, Lewis Katz School of Medicine/Temple University Hospital. Although operating primarily out of TUH – Fox Chase Cancer Center (FCCC), this position will be responsible for system-wide oversight of the division throughout all Temple locations, including Temple University Hospital (TUH) – Fox Chase Cancer Center, TUH – Main Campus, Temple Gynecologic Oncology at Chestnut Hill, and Temple Gynecologic Oncology at Holy Redeemer.The System Chief will Provide system-wide clinical oversight of all Gynecologic Oncology services at Temple Health and Fox Chase Cancer Center. This newly created role will focus on identifying opportunities to enhance and further integrate gynecologic oncology services across Temple Health in the missions of patient care, education, research and community outreach. The System Chief will engage with Temple Health and Fox Chase Cancer Center leadership to improve clinical care, quality and access to gynecologic oncology services throughout the region. Within LKSOM, the System Chief and Divison Director will foster scientific collaboration and innovation, leading the development and ongoing expansion of a robust clinical trials portfolio within the division.  The position will maintain a dual reporting structure to the Chair of the Department of Surgery at FCCC and the Chair of the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at LKSOM.  Requirements

  • Board-certified in OB/GYN and in gynecologic oncology.
  • A record of achievement suitable for an academic appointment at the rank of Associate Professor/Professor at the LKSOM.

  • Strong acumen and judgment in managing financial resources and the ability to develop and implement budgets effectively, aligning resources with strategic priorities.
