The Opportunity:

Capital Digestive Care (CDC), the largest and one of the most respected gastroenterology practices in the Maryland and Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, is seeking their next Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to drive alignment and integration. As a leading gastroenterology group, Capital Digestive needs a dynamic and visionary CEO to unify its expansion and shape the future of digestive health.

The Position:

The CEO will be responsible for leading the strategic direction, operational excellence, and continued growth of Capital Digestive Care. The position of CEO requires a full understanding of the mission for CDC and active participation in fulfilling the mission and vision of the organization. Equally important is that the CEO demonstrates behavior consistent with CDC’s core values while supporting the strategic plan and day to day operations.

Key responsibilities include:

-       Develop greater unity of purpose within the practice and streamline operations and strategic direction

-       Negotiate and update BSSA with MSO – annually/semi-annually

-       Assist in developing updates to Operating Agreement

-       Identify opportunities for practice expansion

-       Identify opportunities for ancillary line development

-       Facilitate relationship with MSO

The Organization:

Established in January 2009, Capital Digestive Care unified more than 50 physicians across the Washington metropolitan area in their desire to advance the delivery of care for patients suffering from all types of digestive health conditions. With more than 20 office locations and outpatient surgery centers and more than 160 physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants, Capital Digestive Care is the largest gastroenterology group in the Mid-Atlantic states.

Since 2009, CDC has supported the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America as the presenting sponsor for the National Capital Area Take Steps for Crohn’s and Colitis walk, directing almost $350,000 in support of critical education, research, and awareness programs.

The Location:

Silver Spring is located in Montgomery County, Maryland, near Washington, D.C. Its name comes from the silver flecked mica spring discovered there in 1840. Landmarks in the downtown area include the AFI Silver Theatre, the National Museum of Health and Medicine, a branch of The Fillmore, and the headquarters of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the National Weather Service.

Downtown Silver Spring makes an excellent destination - just a 35-40 minute drive from each of the three DC-area airports (National, BWI, Dulles); only one mile from two I-495/Capital Beltway interchanges (Colesville Rd., Georgia Ave.); and a rapid 15-minute ride on Metrorail to DC's Union Station and 20 minutes to Metro Center. From its abundant attractions to its strategic location inside the Beltway and adjacent to Washington, there are plenty of reasons to stay in Silver Spring.
