St. John’s Episcopal Hospital at South Shore is seeking an innovative and dynamic leader to join its New York team as the Vice President of External Affairs!


The Position 

  • The Vice President, External Affairs Officer holds a pivotal role in driving initiatives that enhance brand development, strengthen marketing and communications strategies, and cultivate strategic partnerships in alignment with the organization's objectives.
  • Responsibilities include managing Public Relations, and Marketing and Communication. 
  • This position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and manages a team of five FTEs. 
  • This leader will be responsible for elevating the department to the next level by enhancing Marketing and Public Relations efforts within the community. This includes expanding the use of social media platforms and increasing press coverage to maximize outreach and impact.
  • Ideal candidates will be dynamic leaders with exceptional written, presentation, and communication skills. They should excel in building strong relationships with the community, state elected officials, and other key stakeholders. A proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment is essential for success in this role.


Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline required.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in a combination of marketing, communication, and external affairs (e.g., government, alliances, partnerships, etc.).
  • Proven expertise in brand management, digital and corporate communication, along with substantial leadership experience, is critical to success in this role.


Compensation Range

  • The base salary range for this position is $250,000 annually. In addition, a leader may be eligible for other benefits, including but not limited to health insurance coverage, retirement benefits, and bonuses. The total compensation for the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. The base salary range listed above is a good faith determination of potential base compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
