Job Summary

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: At least one year Registered Nurse experience within the last 24 months and acute critical experience within the last 12 months or EMT and ED Tech with a minimum of 2 years experience & in good standing.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS: Current license as a Registered Nurse by the State of California.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS: Evidence of current BLS, ACLS and PALS certification.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS: MICN desired to be completed within one year of hire.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS: MICN, NRP, TNCC, and CEN encouraged and recommended.
QUALIFICATIONS: Basic computer skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (b): This job requires frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, reaching above shoulders, sitting, walking inclines and declines, standing, talking, hearing, and performing repetitive hand motions. Vision requirements include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will occasionally pull, lift, transfer, or push a patient side to side, to a sitting position, to a standing position, or laterally. The employee must demonstrate a pull lift of 50 pounds from the floor.
POTENTIAL EXPOSURE TO BLOOD & BODY FLUIDS: Category 1 for potential exposure to bloodbody fluids. (Requires the performance of procedures or other tasks in the work routine that involve an inherent potential for mucous membranes or skin contact with blood, body fluids or tissues, or a potential for spills or splashes of them. Protective measures should be used while engaged in Category 1 tasks with exposure potential.)

AGES SERVED (b): Child, Adolescent, Adult Geriatric. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care service appropriate to the age of the patients/individuals served. Demonstrates and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patients/ individuals status and interpret relative to his age-specific needs, and to provide the care/service needed.
Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and the critical skills necessary to provide age appropriate care to the patients served in the Intensive Care setting. Able to interpret data about the patients status in order to identify each patients age specific needs and provide care needed by the patient group.
Demonstrates the ability to handle emergency situations in a prompt, precise and professional manner.
Maintains accurate and continued nursing documentation including patient histories, conditions, treatments, responses and assessment of changes.
Maintains and meets expectations on time for all competencies, license, certifications and education requirements as outlined by local administration, Adventist Health (AH), The Joint Commission (TJC), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and all other regulatory agencies.
Maintains current knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient and his or her clinical condition.
Meets charge nurse expectations as assigned.
Meets professional behavior expectations and guest services expectations.
Monitors hemodynamic status of patient and correctly interpret the results.
Nursing documentation must reflect comprehensive understanding of the nursing process.
Performs head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments per policy. This includes pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient populations.
Prepares, administers, monitors and discontinues IV fluids.
Provides a professional environment and professional appearance while on hospital grounds.
Willingly performs other duties and innovations as assigned.
