The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for managing patient care by promoting and restoring patients' health through the nursing process, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members, and providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families. The RN provides care to patients, within scope of experience and training in inpatient, outpatient, and/or other facility settings. RNs record patients' medical histories and symptoms, help perform diagnostic tests and analyze results, administer treatment and medications, and help with case follow-up and rehabilitation. The RN utilizes the nursing process, critical thinking, and problem solving skills to provide holistic care across the life span.
