How long are travel assignments? & How Much does AMN Pay?

Most assignments are 13 weeks, but can range from four to 26 weeks, or up to nine months for school assignments. If there’s an assignment you’re interested in, contact your recruiter to discuss the full range of options available to you.

AMN Healthcare travelers are among the most satisfied in the industry. Pay rates are always competitive and vary by assignment, specialty, location, and experience. Talk to your expert recruiter for further details regarding compensation.

How long is my commitment to AMN?

Your commitment is equal to the length of the assignment you agree to take. For travel assignments, this is typically 13 weeks, but can vary to be either longer or shorter depending on the facility’s needs. For example, if you work a travel assignment in a school setting, these contracts typically follow the school calendar and can reach 9 months in length.

Do you offer housing?

Yes! AMN happily provides our clinicians with competitive housing or a monthly stipend they can use towards their own housing arrangements. You can choose from pre-arranged corporate housing options or a monthly stipend they can use toward their own accommodations. This is considered to be a part of the clinician’s overall compensation package.

What benefits do you offer?

AMN Healthcare travelers are among the highest paid healthcare professionals in the industry. We also offer a wide variety of benefits, including comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. Additional voluntary benefits include short-term disability, critical illness, accident insurance, hospital indemnity, as well as competitive housing, 401(k) retirement plans, licensure and travel reimbursement, free continuing education, and much more.

Do you offer referral bonuses?

Yes. You can earn a referral bonus of $1,000 for every school or medical clinician referral, and $2,000 for each school psychologist referral. Once your referral completes a 13-week assignment, you will be eligible for the bonus. Please visit our Refer a Friend page for detailed information about our program.

Can I be assigned in my hometown?

Yes. Many of our school and facility partners hire local healthcare professionals, along with opportunities for teletherapy assignments that allow you to work from home. Your recruiter will know if the assignment in which you’re interested is eligible for local travel.
